Words, words, words

Hi friends. Happy weekend. How has it been? My parents were here for a brief stop-over on their way to their vacation in Maine and it was pretty awesome. We got a great dinner at Jalapenos in Gloucester followed by ice cream at none other than White Farms on Saturday night.

This morning was pretty low key. I made an easy “bed in breakfast” style breakfast featuring toasted and buttered homemade zucchini bread, scrambled eggs and organic strawberries. I also had my favorite coffee on hand – chocolate cappuccino from New England Coffee. It was quite tasty and I’d like to think it sent my parents off on their adventure on the right foot [just accidentally typed “food” hehe].

I’ve been very diligent and actually really loving the yoga challenge so far. Today marks the sixth day and I’m still feeling strong and motivated, perhaps even more so than the first day. Saturday morning was perhaps the highlight of the challenge so far. I got up and rode my bike to a local 9 o'clock class. It was so nice to practice with a room full of yogis since I normally do my yoga at home. It was also really nice to get their by my own power – just me, my bike, and my mat.

Overall, I’m feeling strong and relaxed. I feel like the rush, rush, rush feelings I have been battling are definitely calming down and I surely correlate that with making the time to practice yoga – to slow down and to be present.

Tell me how things are going for you! Did you do anything fun this weekend? How do you slow down when things seem too hectic?

I'm glad you had a great visit and good weekend. I saw Louis CK this weekend in Newport. We went for two days and it was nice to recharge after a long work week.

This doesn't have to do with anything, but I thought you'd get a kick out of it. It's a tumblr that imagines how literary characters would dress today. Fun stuff! http://textbook.tumblr.com/
