Hi Guys, Happy Emilyday. I so appreciate the comments and emails you have sent my way since my last post. I was in a really sad place and it meant so much to be reminded of how much I have to be thankful for. Because I want to protect my privacy, I don’t feel comfortable going fully into what happened. What I can say that this whole traumatic experience has brought my colleagues and I closer than ever. It’s amazing to see how people can come together to comfort and support each other; yet another thing to be thankful for, that is for sure.
Anyways, each day that passes is a day closer to feeling like my normal self. I’ve been getting lots of exercise. I have always felt that endorphins are the best way for me to de-stress, think, and find some peace of mind. In addition to yoga, I’ve been running, biking, and Jillian Michaels-ing. It helps. As does dark chocolate and frozen yogurt. :)
I just wanted to check in and thank you guys. I’m so lucky to have such an intelligent and wide-reaching group of friends that are willing and ready to support me with laughs, kind notes and hugs (virtual and real). And now, I’ll leave you with something my brother wrote to me (it may because he’s forever my younger brother, but he always amazes me with his insight and kindness)… “Things will get better, but it will take some time for everyone to recover. I always look at these times as reminders of how quickly things can change, and to not take anything for granted.”
True. That.
How about we spread the gratefulness – let me know what’s making you happy today. Smiles mandatory. :)
Lots of love,
Em
