So, the weather outside is not as frightful (or nearly as frightful) as expected, but the fire is so delightful….
Brian has officially mastered our wood stove. It sits in the corner of our kitchen and makes it that much more likely that I’ll be hanging out there. While I’m bummed that we can’t just get our final project over with tonight (class was cancelled on Monday, for no reason!), it is nice to do some home-things on a Wednesday.
Anywho, rewinding a bit. My breakfast went unpictured because it took place at our monthly department breakfast. I had a small piece of veggie quiche (minus the extra crust – not a fan, so dry) as well as a bunch of fresh melon, orange and pineapple. Yum.
Lunch was the promised leftovers from last night. Just as good the second time around!
Snack was a plain Oikos on top of a bit of golean berries and topped with nanner. So good.
When I got home (not early, as hoped, dumb storm!), I decided to do this weeks free Yoga Today class. It focused on Heart Openers (aka shoulder hell) and really deepening the practice. It was tough!
Before yoga-ing I put some acorn squash with smart balance and brown sugar in the oven to bake. When I was finished, it was all lovely and brown and then I got to making a stir fry with bell pepper, onions, broccoli, peas, carrots and tempeh. It was quite tasty. :)
After dinner, we enjoyed some Rock Band and now its reading time. I just started reading Animal, Vegetable, Miracle (finally) and I love it. Have you guys read it? Does your love of food bleed in to your leisure reading like mine does?
I hope you guys have a warm and cozy night! I know I will with this fire! :)

I miss open fires since being on campus! We can't even own a candle :-(
I would be listening to christmas music tonight if I were you.. It's sunny and 12 here- not nearly as much fun- especially when I'm about to watch the winter olypmics for the next two weeks-- oh well!
That fire is looking sooo cozy...it makes me want to be in the mountains with snow all around lol.
I'm so jealous of your wood stove, it looks so cozy!
I'm so jealous of your fire! There is definitely no better way to spend a snow day than cuddling up by a fire!
Rock Band by the fire. Sounds like fun!
My love of food doesn't go into my reading, but my love of sex does. I like trashy books! Only sometimes :)
Happy Emilyday!! :) That fire looks so, so cozy. I have an acorn squash and I think I'm gonna do what you did - prep it before yoga (wrist is feeling a little better) and have it ready for me when I'm finished!!
I haven't heard of that book. Let us know how it is! :) Bye for now, Em!!
