Trying to Drive that Escalator into the Ground

Hi Friends! Happy Emilyday! We’ve made it! Actually, the week has flown by for me.  Its kind of nice to be astronomically busy with work, school, getting my fitness on and eating (of course there’s the eating).  But before I fall into a category of Three Things Thursday with my busy talk, I’ll get to the eats!

Breakfast today was delish –  cinnamon apples on top of oats made with a bit of soymilk and capped off with a spoon of peanut butter.  I should have taken the “after” photo of it all mixed up – looked much more yummy – but alas, I was too busy shoveling it in to my pie hole.

Lunch was a huge salad from the cafe with mixed greens, carrot, bell pepper, kidney beans, chick peas, purple onion, dried cranberries, cucs, a scoop of hummus and freshly made croutons.  Plus a bit of olive oil and some balsamic vinegar and of course hot sauce, lots and lots of hot sauce.

Snack was a large nanner that I could think of nothing creative to do with for the picture (that was also food blog appropriate), so there she sits.

And…a chocolate raspberry Kashi bar.  I think these things are growing on me.  Or, at least I could eat the chocolate raspberry frosting off of the whole box of them at once.

After work, I hit the gym and did a 50 minute brisk uphill walk on the treadmill (holy sweat fest) while reading Animal, Vegetable, Miracle.  I love this book.  After the treadmill, I did some arms and abs until I was tired and hunnnngry.

Dinner was quick and delicious.  Half a whole wheat pita with chipotle sabra hummus and scrambled egg and a bowl of vegetable barley soup.  Yum.

Now, we’re off to do some bowling. Its becoming a Thursday night thing, apparently! Good thing we can record the NBC TV lineup. :)

I haven’t shared a song in a while and my Pandora station was rocking, for shizzle, today so I think I’m going to share one.  Hope you like it! (The video is awesome!)

Are you a big Neko Case fan by chance?!

I'm a little iffy on those kashi bars as well-- I threw out half of mine decided it wasn't worth the eat and had a different snack instead.

Happy Emilyday!!! I've done that before with bars before - not care for 'em too much at first then they grow on me. Like the amazing grass bars... I hated them at first, but now I actually really like them. Hope yall have fun bowling!! You are much more exciting than Andrew and me!! We're bums on a couch - every single night, haha! ;)

I love that song! I have worn it out on my ipod.

You would never end up in a Three Things Thursday!

The salad looks yummy. I wish I had a cafeteria at my work. One more day until the weekend!

Have I already told you that I'm reading Animal Vegetable Miracle right now too? I'm loving it as well.
