Tabata Monday

Hay Taters! How goes it? Clearly I'm way to chipper for a Monday, but hey, its been a good day and the sun is shining (so what if its a good deal below freezing?).

I'm coming to you earlier than usual because I wanted to challenge any of you who are interested to a Tabata Monday for the month of February. Brian decided to get a group of our work friends together to do Tabata exercises every Monday in our work gym. Never one to shy away from a new workout challenge, I'm going to be joining in.

For those of you unfamiliar with Tabata, it is a fairly high intensity interval workout that involves high intensity cycles of 20 seconds followed by rest cycles of 10 seconds. This cycle is repeated 8 times without pause for a total of four minutes.

Today, our cycles will consist of the following:

4 minutes of plank (20 seconds on 10 seconds rest, repeated)
4 minutes of burpees (20 seconds on 10 seconds rest, repeated)
4 minutes of wall sits (20 seconds on 10 seconds rest, repeated)
4 minutes of 2 cone drill (running backward and forward between two cones) (20 seconds on 10 seconds rest, repeated)

While it may not sound tough, I'm expecting it to be a challenge. Especially the burpees, blech!

Let me know if you guys take me up on the challenge! Happy February!

Em

Tabatas are awesome! When you're doing things like burpees, you want to count and try to do the same amount as the first one you do on each of the 8 sets
