Hi friends! First, I want to thank you for your support and wonderful comments on my last post. It definitely is difficult to put it all out there and I don’t do it very often, so it was really nice to receive such great feedback. I definitely don’t have everything figured out, but I’m definitely up for the challenge to continually improve myself and my life. :)
Anywho, today has been a really great day. I slept in until about 9 and then made a delicious breakfast of pumpkin oats. I topped mine with pb, half a nanner, some cinnamon and a drizzle of maple syrup. So good – I’m very happy to have pumpkin back in my life.
After breakfast, I wasn’t quite sure what to do. I had a bunch more schoolwork to do, but I had a big urge to exercise. Ultimately, I decided to follow my desire and put off writing until later (slacker!).
I browsed the exercise tv offerings but I am so sore from yoga yesterday that any of the higher impact cardio routines involving some serious plyometrics were off limits. What I was then left with were a few routines like the Carmen Electra strip tease which was only 11 minutes long and which I’m sure would have made me blush. While I don’t condone or particularly like making the drive to work to use the gym on weekend days, I made a date with the treadmill.
I did a 50 minute hill walk that consisted of 5 minute increments at 3.5 mph starting at 2% incline and working up to 10% incline (by two percent incline increases each time) and then back down. It felt relatively easy today but I still got a good sweat going and was able to loosen up my sore legs a bit.
Brian was already up north running with a friend and so we met up after our respective workouts and went for a road trip. The north shore is so beautiful and I love just driving around by the ocean and through the little towns. Before we started our adventure, we stopped for lunch at the local specialty store/deli. It sells a ton of delicious and dangerous goodies like local almond butter, apple butter, chocolate, cookies, brownies, soups…you get the idea.
For my lunch, I got their summer salad which consists of mixed greens, pineapple rings, strawberries, grapes, bell pepper, goat cheese and flax seeds with a blueberry vinaigrette. On the side I got a small bag of Food Should Taste Good multigrain chips and a diet coke with lime. Everything was so delicious! Yum.
Fed and happy, we then made our way to Halibut point on Cape Anne. Despite the grey and snow, it was a beautiful ride!
We got a great afternoon in and still managed to be home by three so that I could get some writing done. Despite my lovely salad, I was pretty hungry when we got home so I had some malted (protein) yogurt with the other half of my nanner from this morning.
Now, I’m getting hungry again so I think it may be time for dinner. I made some veggie stew last night with sweet potatoes, white potatoes, eggplant, onion, garlic, peas, and tomato sauce and there are a ton of leftovers so all I have to do is heat and eat. Yum. I heart leftovers. (Here’s last night’s bowl as a stand-in.)
Alright, well I’m off to wrap up my writing for the day and then stuff my pie-hole. Have a great night, friends!

Haha, I've never done those strip tease workouts before. A lot of my friends take Pole-a-Teaz classes here in Atlanta and they even have poles in their houses! They have been begging me to come along for years now, but uhhh, no. I'll stick to yoga and Jillian workouts thank you very much, haha! ;)
Roadtrips are so much fun!! That salad sounds so delicious and I'm very impressed that they offered Food Should Taste Good chips, awesome!!
Enjoy the rest of your evening!! :)
sounds like a pretty nice day, so jealous that you live by the ocean!
I did the strip tease workout for about a minute and shut it off...it was weird...
The roadtrip sounds like it was fun. Thanks for sharing your pics!
