TGIF Yoga, For Reals

Hi there! Happy Friday my friends! Woo hoo! All day today I felt like a little kid – bouncing off the walls and having trouble concentrating.  I’m hoping that some rest and relaxation will renew my focus.  Jeez!

I started the day out with another bowl of beautiful berry and barney butter oats.  So delicious.

Lunch was a veggie and tofu wrap on a low carb wheat wrap.  I stuffed it with bell pepper, carrots, spinach and Newman’s Own light honey mustard dressing.  Yum.

lunchThe highlight of my afternoon was definitely snack.  Plain oikos with banana and some mix my granola.

IMG_0759After work, I headed out to TGIF yoga (which was actually happening this week).  This practice and teacher was much different than I’ve experienced before.  It was extremely relaxing and healing.  I felt pretty much like jelly when I got out. :) I always worry I’m going to fall down the stairs afterwards, haha.

The teacher read a really nice prose piece by Charles Swindoll:

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.

And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes.

Namaste. :)

I was more than ready for dinner when I got home, so I got to cooking up a delicious omelette stuffed with fresh baby spinach and some shaved parmesian and topped with some of the leftover pepper, tomato and eggplant sauce that Brian’s mom made.  So amazing.  I also had two slices of toast alongside.  Mmmm…

IMG_0889Now I’m just waiting for the fellow  to get home.  He’s out buying himself another suit.  All of our weddings are necessitating it.  In fact, I think I may need to buy another dress tomorrow morning.  We have two weddings this weekend! Phew!

I hope you guys have a great Friday night! Yee ha for the weekend! :)

Glad you enjoyed TGIF Yoga! What a powerful message. I really need to practice that in my life right now. The economy might be kicking a lot of us in the rear right now, but the way we react to it will determine how things playout. Wow, I really needed to read this tonight! In fact, I really need to write it down and frame it!! Thank you for sharing!!

Have a great night!! :)

Those oats are beautiful! They are almost red white and blue! Perfect for 9/11!

What brand of wrap is that? I'm always on the hunt for good ones!
