The ceremony was in a cute church in Durham, NH. It was very pretty inside and a really nice wedding.
And then the reception took place at the Wentworth by the Sea in Portsmouth New Hampshire. Wentworth is a hotel and country club right on the ocean. It was breathtaking.

The party started at 4, and promptly, with glasses of champagne greeting us as we entered the cocktail/appetizer area. In addition to the open bar and not-so traditional floating appetizers (sushi, brie and raspberry turnovers, coconut lobster) there was a full veggie, fruit, cheese and cracker table, and a seafood bar with raw oysters, lobster claws and tails, and shrimp. It was delicious.
Around 5, everyone was herded into the dining area where huge vases of pink flowers decorated all of the tables and huge chandeliers hung from the ceiling.
The band was also playing, and they were amazing. At first they stuck to easy jazz but quickly brought things up a notch with some Justin Timberlake and even Kanye West. They were great.
Dinner started off with a really nice salad topped with some sort of crisped (read fried) cheese. I think it was an herbed goat cheese in the middle and it was amazing.
Now, Brian and I always make bets at weddings as to what the vegetarian entree will be. I think its just because we always hope it will be what we guess instead of the usual - pasta with vegetables. Well, our hopes were matched and exceeded with our vegetarian entrees. We still can't quite figure it out completely, but we were served a stuffed filo dough with portobello mushroom, bell pepper, spinach, and a type of creamy, tangy sauce. It was awesome, and served with mashed potatoes and fresh carrots and asparagus.
The cake was cut and served to us with coffee. It was a chocolate and white cake with raspberry separating the layers. The cake was moist and delicious but the frosting was not my favorite.
Post cake, it was dancing and goofing around time. Brian and I lit up the dance floor and I most certainly worked off my very filling dinner and appetizers.
As the evening went on, little pastries were delivered to the table. We didn't partake, but they were quite pretty and definitely worth a photo.
To cap off the night, Brian took a sip from a flower vase. Yum. :)
All in all, it was a great night and amazing to spend the occasion with our now married friends, Ben and Carey.
