Despite the late night last night, I managed to get myself up and was pretty peppy this morning. I did not, however, do yoga because I was in serious slow motion and realized it too late to fix it. :)
For breakfast I toasted up some delicious yoga bread and topped it with my favorite combo - almond butter and nanner. I washed it down with an iced coffee.

Lunch today consisted of a black bean veggie burger on top of some spinach, sundried tomato hummus, and some kashi crackers. So good.

I bet you can guess what my snack was today - that's right, greek yogurt with golean. I think I love this because 1) its tasty 2) it has a ton of protein and so keeps me full 3) its easy to keep here at work in the fridge. I added some raisins on top today. Mmm...

After work today, I headed to the gym for a workout. It was so crazy (and humid) in there with all of our summer interns taking up space, blast those interns! :) I did a sweaty 35 minutes on the spin bike (alternating with 5 minutes moderate seated, 5 minutes hard standing). After that, I did a brief but intense arm workout - push ups on the back side of a bosu ball (3 sets of 6), and something new - from balancing on a yoga ball, I threw up a medicine ball in the air and caught it (3 sets of 15 - holy shaky arms!) and then one random set of raised arm push ups on the right side of the bosu ball (8 on each arm). I finished off with 2 sets of wall squats with a yoga ball and 8 lb weights. I felt super beat after, which is ideal!
I showered and rushed off to pick up my new laptop (yesssss), got a ten calorie lemonade vitamin water and then met my friend Melissa at a Chinese/Japanese restaurant called Mandarin Reading. Its huge and always delicious so I was very excited.
To start, we both ordered a roll of their tempura sweet potato maki rolls. So good.

For my entree, I had steamed shrimp and veggies. This was light and had huge, delicious shrimp. It was perfect after the maki rolls - and I have leftovers!

We were surprised with complementary dessert that was absolutely delicious. It was a sort of Japanese tiramisu, with a layer of pineapple, topped with pound cake, topped with tiramisu cream and a bit of tapioca and some more pinapple and a blueberry. This was the perfect little portion and was so delicious. Thanks Mandarin! :)

After dinner, I headed to Brian's - he's going away for the weekend, so we wanted to get some hang out time in. I'm sipping some tea, the Red Sox just tied up the game, and I'm feeling like its about time for some PJs. I hope you guys have a great night. Sweet dreams!

Those black bean burgers are probably my fav out of all the others! Do you make your own iced coffee?
I would love to learn how so I can make it at home and get over my Dunkin Donuts addiction!
Great workout! Are those black bean burgers home-made?
Yum, love Japanese food. Yay for the weekend!
Hey April, the black bean burger was not homemade - it was a morningstar burger. They're not as good as homemade, but delicious, indeed!
