Hey guys! Happy Saturday! I hope you all are having great weekends so far! Mine has been a lot of fun. Its always great to spend time at home with my parents, for sure.
I got here around 7 last night and my parents swept me off to a great dinner at an Italian restaurant called Casey's. We sat down to awesomely warm and fresh loaf of bread. I was really hungry and had a good amount of it.
For my entree, I ordered baked scallops. The entree came with an amazing house salad of mixed greens and fresh vegetables with a homemade dressing. So good. I ordered a glass of cab which was equally delicious.
Dinner was amazing, although I was feeling quite stuffed already. It came with the baked scallops which were fantastic, along with steamed fresh veggies (including brussels sprouts) and mashed taters. I ate all of the scallops and veggies and only had a few bites of the potatoes.
I wasnt thinking that dessert would be in the cards for me because I felt so stuffed. As usually happens though, I digested and was more than ready for some light ice cream. I had a small amount of vanilla light ice cream with some brownie and m&m pieces. Yum.
After a good night's sleep, I woke up feeling refreshed and ready to go this morning. I started off with some cereal - a mixed bowl of go lean crunch and quaker corn bran topped with raisins and skim milk. I also had some of my dad's awesome coffee (no sweetners required).

I went for a run around 11. It was super hot and sunny and I defniitely didn't drink enough water beforehand, but it was still a good one. I'm not positive, but it was over 5 miles and I was out there for about 45 minutes.
When I got home, I hopped in the shower and my mom and I scooted off to Kohls for their huge sale. I brought a granola bar that I picked up on Friday with me - it was made at a bakery in Brian's hometown, Topsfield MA and was filled with wholesome, all natural ingredients - oats, almonds, honey, cranberries, dark chocolate. It was delicious.

We did some serious shopping and I ended up like a bandit - I got a really cute Vera Wang dress for fall and a pair of denim capris and a denim skirt. Yesss....
I was SO hungry when we got back. I quickly boiled an egg and assembled a delicious salad of spinach, mushrooms, sliced grapes, purple onion, a sprinkle of sharp parm cheese (freshly grated off the hunk), the egg and some newmans light balsamic dressing. I also had some thin crisp crackers on the side and a polar diet orange dry. So good.

I decided to make dinner for my parents tonight, and since it was such a nice day, we were really feeling the grill. I picked up some italian style veggie sausages, whole wheat hot dog buns, sweet potatoes, red and orange bell pepper, white onion, and a six pack of Sam Summer (yessss).
I crisped up the bell pepper and onions on the grill and baked the sweet potato in rounds topped with cinnamon and paprika in the oven. I also toasted the buns and grilled the sausages on the grill.

Everything came out great and was enjoyed by all.

We went to try and see Up tonight but it was all sold out! So, undeterred, we're planning on just getting a movie on demand. I'm hoping for He's Just Not that Into You but I'm not sure my dad will go for it! :)
I got us some ben and jerrys froyo for dessert and its calling my name! Have a great night guys!!
