A Fun Hangover

Hey Guys! Happy Tuesday! Thank goodness that it is Tuesday! I feel so groggy and unfocused - I'm blaming it on a fun hangover. This long weekend was so enjoyable. I'm really looking forward to a summer full of similarly fun weekends! :)

Last night I did end up having another snack, the other half of my cereal nanner with pb. It stopped my grumbling tummy, happily.

This morning, I started my day out with some nine grain toast topped with almond butter and nanner. So delicious. I don't know what I did without almond butter in my life. :) I also had an iced coffee.

I was more than ready for lunch today, and since I wasn't really prepared, I went to the work salad bar. My creation consisted of: mixed greens, carrots, cuc, red onion, red bell pepper, edamame, blue cheese, walnuts, whole wheat and rye croutons, ground black pepper and blue cheese vinaigrette. It was awesome. I pretty much inhaled this baby.

The afternoon flew by, but not before I had some yogurt and go lean. Again, not being prepared, I had to get a regular stonyfield farm blueberry yogurt from the caf. I really didn't enjoy this very much. The consistency seemed almost slimy compared to the thick, whipped consistency of greek yogurt. I got through it though. :)

Tuesday is track night so I hung around work late getting some school work done and munched on a bit more go lean crunch. Then I hit the road.

I started on the track with a mile warm up really slow. The track workout today was pretty intense, as usual. I stuck with my group - the 7 minute mile runners. Our workout was:

8 x 200 meters
4 x 800 meters

The 200 meter sprints felt great, and then the 800 meter sprints seemed so long! It was tough, but great. We kept it under a 7 minute pace the whole time. :)

I finished off with a half mile cool down really slow. The total running distance was 3 miles of speed and 1.5 miles of recovery. Not bad at all.

I didn't get home until 8 and I was more than ready for dinner! I whipped up a black bean veggie burger on a whole wheat bun from our bbq yesterday along with some defrosted broccoli sprinkled with parmesan cheese. On my burger, I had a fresh tomato and half an avocado. It was amazingly delicious.

I was also craving something sweet, so for dessert I had a small amount of the ben & jerry's half baked yogurt from the weekend and a square of dark chocolate. Delicious.

Its a bit chilly in here right now so I think I'm going to go make some tea and get cozy in my bed. I hope you guys have a great night!! :)

Em
