Hot Dogs and Ice Cream, Oh My!

Hey Guys,

Hope you're having good days so far! Yay for Friday! Its super rainy here but its not ruining my weekend mood!

Yesterday I got a great run in after work - I did 5.6 miles around a local park. I saw a family of 6 deer along the way. The entire route is so beautiful, it reminds me of being in Europe with rolling hills and farms and chickens... by rolling hills I mean very LARGE hills. It was tiring but the scenery definitely helps. I finished in 48:10 and then stopped at a gas station to rehydrate. I decided to try SoBe Lifewater in Yumberry Pomegranite. It has zero calories and is sweetened with stevia. It was quite tasty - really sweet - but it really helped to revive me.

I met up with Brian at work and he told me that he was thinking about going to Spike's Junkyard Dogs in Davis Square for dinner. I jumped at the idea!! It's been so long since we had been there and they have the best fat free veggie dogs and homemade rolls.

We both got the Samurai veggie dogs - Brian got his with curly fries and I got mine with a side salad and lite italian dressing. The Samurai dogs had teriyaki sauce, sauteed onions and swiss cheese. I think the rolls and toppings make the hot dog.

I have been really, really craving ice cream and since it was a really nice night we decided to walk over to J.P. Licks. They have so many great frozen yogurt options. I decided on a small chocolate chip low fat yogurt on a sugar cone. It was delicious vanilla yogurt with crumbled cookie pieces in it. So yummy.

Brian and I kept remarking on how funny it was that we had a night of hot dogs and ice cream - but we did it moderately and eat healthfully most of the time; we could afford some splurges. :) What do you guys splurge on?
