After work I went to the gym and decided to run outside - we're expecting extremely cold temps around here so I figured I'd better get it in while I could. It was only 28 degrees but it felt almost balmy out because I've been getting used to the FREEZING temps. I ran my normal work/night route that is 4.2 miles. I finished it in 33:26 - a little under 8 minutes a mile which isn't bad. Once I got back into the gym, I did 10 minutes on the rowing machine (a tough ten minutes) and then called it a workout! :)
I met up with Brian shortly after and we went to his parents' house so we could all head to dinner together to celebrate his Dad's birthday. I had a brownie z bar in the car because I was really hungry. We ended up going to an Italian restaurant near by and it was really good. To start, I had a glass of Cabernet along with a slice of really light and airy sesame bread. Brian and I split a small garden salad as well. For my entree, I had Scallop Milan which was braised scallops, spinach, and tomatoes served on top of linguini in a white wine sauce. It was really, really good. There were a ton of scallops and the spinach and tomatoes were definitely fresh. I ate all of the scallops, spinach and tomatoes (naturally) but left about half of the pasta. Sorry about the lack of pics, it was a lovely looking meal.
Amazingly, I was still a bit hungry when we got home so I had three fig newtons and a cup of tea with low fat milk. We rounded out the lovely evening with two episodes of LOST. I'm almost caught up to the new season! Yay!
Ok, now back to the present. Brian had to get to work early this morning so I decided to go in with him and get a workout in. I did a sweaty (almost grossly sweaty) 30 minutes on the elliptical (hill route, level 8) followed by my pilates inspired ab workout with the exercise ball.
For breakfast, I decided to switch it up a bit from the oatmeal and had some vanilla greek style yogurt (yes, the Cabot with the yummy vanilla beans) with banana and the last of my almond butter :(. For some carbs, I toasted up a whole wheat english muffin and put some all-fruit raspberry preserves on it. It was a very filling and tasty breakfast! I'm left debating, though, about whether or not I want to buy a new jar of almond butter; I'm thinking that my enjoyment is worth the 13 bucks! What do you think?

I had to run home during lunch to pick up some paperwork to send school and my copy of Wall-E (so good) to be watched tonight during my babysitting session. So I'm eating a bit later than normal today but my breakfast held me over perfectly. I had a bowl of Health Valley vegetable, bean and corn soup with some kashi crackers. I love this soup!

Now I'm just going to truck through the afternoon until I go pick up my boss's son to grab some dinner and then head back to their place to watch the movie. :) Hope you all have a great afternoon!
